Dear Parents and Staff,

This week we discovered surface mold in some classrooms at Dr. E.A Ricci Middle School. The cause of the surface mold in those classrooms was the results of the high humidity over the past few weeks. Many school districts across the state are experiencing the same problem in their schools.

For the safety of our students and staff we decided today that we will have Single Source Cleaning Company clean the whole building.  In order to clean the entire building and get an air quality test done school will not start for Ricci Middle School students and staff until

September 4th.

We will have the air quality tested in all schools across the district out of an abundance of caution.

The safety of our students and staff is my number one priority.

Robert O’Brien

Interim Superintendent of Schools
